I already gave one hypothesis: being able to "carry yourself" out of there, i.e. by consistently gaining MMR, requires a different skill set. in this case it's simply going mid every single game before that retard picks invoker and has 0 impact the entire duration
u know the funny thing is, i was just watching one of dragonfist's games (he is 7000 mmr now) where he got counterpicked mid (viper against ta), and then the other team is sitting mid trying to snipe his courier all game long so he can't bottle crow. enemy mirana shoots arrows over and over; if u shoot enough times ur bound to get at least 1-2 hits in, which is what happens. he still outcses the other guy and gets his items up at a very good time mark while having 5 cs/minute by 10 minute mark, and around 130 cs 20 min mark. most 4k players would struggle to get that even under ideal laning conditions
I think farming KDA/hero damage boosts hidden MMR. At least I've seen a ton of TBD Zeus' who just cast ulti basically every time it's off cd. Not sure about the facts but I've seen multiple people do it.

I don't think anyone "belongs" to a certain mmr tier. As long as you are willing to get better and accept your mistakes, you are bound to get better, and if you play long enough you can reach 5k or whatever number kids these days like.
valve did the right thing preventing party mmr gaps of greater than 2000, now they need to enforce the same for solo

previous 2 games were pretty awful due to shit lanes + me tilting after first 2 deaths, i almost lost this one as well but somehow pulled it together. i need to meditate like 5 minutes in between each game if i play consecutively

Try playing at 2500-3500k mmr.
You'll always see picks like : void, anti mage, legion commander and spectre on the same team.
