I mean, he is right these heroes he listed are all currently awful. I always hated going against axe when he was meta though so he can stay in dumpster.
Says something about this game that after almost a decade of release time they still cant balance for shit. Imagine a world where all of the hero pool was roughly equal quality and strength and the only thing that matters is player skill and counter drafting instead of the same 20 boring ass cheese heros making up 99% of the pick rate.
Why did Valve bother giving us 117 heros to choose from when only ~30 of those are viable picks!!
@parmaviolets shit you should go develop a game with over 100 heroes and have them all balanced I would probably play that.
Give me 360 members of staff, 10 years and a few million pounds then sure.
Im not saying the game should be perfectly balanced cause that would be practically impossible but jesus christ the game atm is more unbalanced than it has been in years. Every patch should bring us closer to perfect balance not further away.
The fact that easy to play heros like Timber and Tiny have a 40% winrate speaks volumes about how bad the patching is
I think "closer to perfect balance" thing already happened in 6.88, i am sure all heroes is perfect balance proved by contest rate at tournament and also i remember lot people make thread about it here.
But, that balance game is pretty booringgg af for me (and for some other played too) i remember seeing few thread here talking about when new patches come out because this patch is so balances (or even db article)
So they decided to destroy this balance to introdus the 7.00 disaster with this new talent thing, and release a 100% broken hero arc warden with motto "Balance in all things" lmaoo
My point is this broken patch is sickening, but the "balance" patch is like that too if happen for too long.
I think we just bored, wanting something new
Just due to the nature of some heroes skills and the way the game works, some heroes are always going to be more situational than others. Last few TI have had 80+ heroes picked, I'd leave this patch to settle a little before declaring that the majority of the hero pool is garbage.
Valve: makes a balanced patch
Dota player 1: hoooooow boooooooooring!
Dota player 2: dead game
---------
Valve: introduces disbalance
Dota player 1: X hero must be banned
Dota player 2: typical icefraud
Dota player 3: broken game, i am akf
----------
Outcome in both cases:
Valve - $$$
Players - Emotions
Actually at the time I posted this thread the new patch wasn’t live yet. But after I posted this I emailed to valve regarding this and they released a patch today. Y’all should thank me.
I wish this game was "boringly Balanced" we hit Balanced many patches ago but fucks complained about it so they have to keep spicing it up. Everytime you change a number is nearly impossible to imagine the impact it will have on an algarithm as complex as Dota. Not to mention changing ALOT of numbers. Sooo many interactions. Like the 10 Sentry stock is probaably an inadvertant buff to Invis heros and Shadowblade but how long till that inventory becomes OP for heroes like BH or riki? it may take 5 patches but it may happen. Stop bitching and just figure the patch out.
Man, your statement is pretty senseless. There have basically never been any balance in Dota. I mean, if there weren't any weak or strong heroes in meta, all heroes would have 50.0000% winrate and this game would become abandoned because of its dulness. People find new meta, tactics, new strategies, and then turn to new ones after new patch note, thus older ones got nurfed. Just imagine a football match with 2 teams both of which would have 11 similar players. Will it be interesting to watch?
I mean, just try to get used to dynamism and wait 'til all this stuff around will settle in a week of new 7.22
Every patch should bring us closer to perfect balance not further away.
This! I guess they tried to achieve this till 7.19/7.20 and then messed it all up again.
The point is parma even if the game is perfectly balanced , people get sick of it after a while , you know stale meta and stuff and then in order to change it you need to unbalance it up again.
6.88 was a very good balance patch. This recent one was also very close outside of drow.
I tried to imagine what Parma said about creating a balanced game with such asset, and then I realize... how hard it is to make this game balanced when the player is insanely genius and there were dozens of them to find even a glimpse of abusive aspect within every hero buffed into action!
Everytime you change a number is nearly impossible to imagine the impact it will have on an algarithm as complex as Dota. Not to mention changing ALOT of numbers. Sooo many interactions.
@ShiftingSkys this guy has mentioned it, he's right you know, when you put in the math these genius and pros
i mean if icefrog is allowed to do a patch after seeing abusive shit like last year and everyone complains he do patch on a tour im sure he can make it balanced, the reason he can't is because he's restricted to do so cause retarded tournaments are ongoing
Wtfff did they do to my Axe? Man I miss those very balanced patches when you only had to jungle for 10 min and then blink-call-bm 1v5 all game
Everyone complaining about icefrog's inability to balance is forgetting that perfect balance isn't the solution or what Icefrog is going for.
The super-long patch proceeding 7.00 was arguably the most balanced DotA has ever been, and as a result Icefrog let it sit for a long long time. But eventually, even with such great balance and such a huge portion of the roster being fully viable, players eventually got bored of a meta unchanging. Even balance becomes boring. Imbalance shakes up the game and keeps things interesting.
Perfect balance = perfect imbalance.

Picking Luna, lone Druid, axe, ogre, slark and probably many more shit tier heroes is griefing. either buff them or fucking disable them icefraud.
Oh ya don’t forget about shitbersaw
