Ranks are not really important, unless they are more than one divison apart.
You just played bad heroes/played poorly, aside from your teammates not being good.
If I have KDA with 10 deaths or shit like 1-6, I instantly know that I am playing bad here and have no formal reason to brag about team.
In one of these you went LC jungle.
In another one you played 1-11 (27 assists are cool, but dying 11 times is unacceptable, come on).
In one of these you Storm is Ancient 3 (he's the highest rated, not you, so you lied).
Overall you picked garbage and performed like garbage in these 3 games, it doesn't excuse your team, but doesn't make your loses their fault.
I am sorry, but your thread is exactly what you didn't want it to be (poor player's rant about how he was playing good, which you weren't at all in these games, but team held the big bad boy back).
^nope. they do matter kid.
EDIT: I've been in the 3k trench and 4k trench. I know the difference. I just haven't learned the best way to dealt with it.
^@Scfd
all your comments are the same comments I've been writing and dotabuffers have been writing to any rant post for the past 7 years.
so I'll save myself some time and effort by not replying to whatever you just said
same with me
1 game my team stomps enemy team
next game i get first pick AM, griefing supp and a mid warlock
or 1 game won, next game i got first pick od mid and 2nd pick tinker offlane
that being sad, even after the games i loose the avg mmr or medal doesnt decrease at all. because i dont tilt in game and mostly play better then those teammates
So... pick cores if u wanna win? So picking support as the highest mmr is not possible? Or put in another way, spamming support should be unclimbable because u eventually become the highest mmr and get let down by your cores.
Also. If you are 3k. Chances are there's very little difference in mmr between u and the next guy even if u are the highest. So I doubt it matters much.
Also. 3 game sample size.. come on.
yeah.. like in multiple cases.. I was letting Archon 5 and Legend 1 pick cores.
I would be ok if it was at least Legend 3.
What are you talking about?? There are no additional algorithms for matchmaking except: Server, language and your MMR number. Valve doesnt care if you won last 11 games or won them.
When you click find match Valve tries to find you based on previous settings balanced match in shortest period possible. Thats it, nothing else.
I can't say I agree with your ideology on the support picks. Also, that kind of mentality is pretty much why a lot of players don't improve in the game. They develop an 'I'm more right than I should be' mentality.
I have only played a few rank games since the new update (3 to be exact). All I did was focus on playing my role the best I can (supp in all games), and despite losing 2 of them, the rank just seems to go up (I get matched with higher ranked people started with Legend 4, now get matched with Ancient).
In the end, we should just try to stop guessing whatever valve's algorithm is for finding matches/gaining rank, and just go with the age old advice of improving one's own game.
I don't think its valve placing you in win and lose rate.. maybe its your team holding u back sometimes.. that's why I realize support is better pick to avoid that to happen and make sure u run the support role its a 60% vs 40% winning the game
Supporting only gives an opportunity for your team to push, farm and end game asap. This game actually depends entirely on luck, who's team carry is gonna start feeding first, who's team players will have an argument, its just luck that has a big impact in ordinary dota 2 game.
Fellow legend Black, sup man. You know doto weekend mann, and its SEA, you got to expect these kind of games sometimes :]
maybe bring out your monster spec!
Even if I have the highest MMR / Badge, I still pick support. What's your problem with support players?
Maybe that's the reason why you are stuck in that 3k-4k trench. Since you have the "highest MMR", you should be able to adjust and know which hero you should pick.
Highest mmr in team on solo mm isnt matter that much, u only got less than 50 more mmr than rest of ur team, especially in lower bracket
And if u think that suck someone ever post where he matched with someone he jst reported in his last match as team so jst gl and move on woth ur life
Have been in a losing trend all year. Most days I play I have a 33% winning rate. Only had one game where I had 3 wins in a row all year. Idk what I’m doibg to deserve it.
@Friendly Player
Supports actually have more impact than what you think.
@Op
There were times that I was matched with 4.5k avg when I was the only 5k, The enemy team also had a 5k. I picked support, the enemy picked midlaner. But we stomped that game. How? Because I had much much more impact than their support so all of our lanes were won.
What I suggest you to do is to pick only cores until you are 4k because cores below 4k are shit or pick support only when you are sure you dont have a shit carry/midlaner. The way to know this is to look at their profile GPM/XPM (500 below is bad/ 500 is decent/ 600 is good)
And also, play on japan server if you can, its less toxic there than SEA.
To be fair to the OP supports did take a pretty big nerf this patch with the increases to consumable costs. Inefficient warding and smoking is punished much more heavily than before. Try making up that deficit with meta-support. Checking on other lanes, reassuring teammates that are dying in the opening 10 minutes not to give up, that sort of thing. It's amazing how many games that start off 0 - 6 in the opening minutes end up like 36 - 12 in the end just due to grit and rally.
Edit: Typo.
that's why I realize support is better pick to avoid that to happen and make sure u run the support role its a 60% vs 40% winning the game
This is entirely true if the player is a good support player. But a lot of player are spamming carry role these days, mostly because its calibration times and KDA is very important in order to climb medal.
You can't rely on lower medal players to win you the game.
This is entirely true. When I'm playing party mmr with my 3k friends, sometimes theyre rushing picking carry role, and they fail.
Theres even a game where all carry role is already pick, then the enemy pick AM. We need a 2nd support. Should I pick a supp? I think they dont know how to stop AM
And.., I picked a jungle LC despite a huuuuge nerf in the jungle.
Result of the game? Im the highest net worth, a 200+ duel dmg bonus. Our safelane sucks. Our offlane sucks. Our midlane sucks. Imagine if I picked a support, maybe our safelane will won or tie, but the mid and offlane still sucks. The AM farm actually slow because of me pestering him, but manage to climb up coz of the space his team created. I'm even a bad LC player imo lol
A msg to those low mmr, if you see a medal higher than you, or if you are the lowest, dont pick your hero right away. High mmr player always pick late coz they are analyzing enemy hero and theyll pick hero that will counter/helps your team. If you snatch their role, your in deep shit
"dying 11 times = unacceptable." le mao. i die 15 times in tournaments and still win gaem -> im dogshit getting carried by my tim SeemsGood
So what your saying is dota matching is still trash? ... thank god I stopped playing it and just trolling the forums at times only. Y'all sound weak. :/
"dying 11 times = unacceptable." le mao. i die 15 times in tournaments and still win gaem -> im dogshit getting carried by my tim SeemsGood
I'm constantly dying alot on games :(
Over aggressiveness is a problem on my playstyle, I'm aware of that

after getting 4 wins last night. valve paired me with players who pick cores like fck.
now this is not a rant post - I think I'm getting it.
with the new info display - now you know the medals of each player and what I've noticed is this:
for the past 3 losses:
1. Valve actually put me as the highest ranked player amongst my team
- now this is actually saying like "if you're really good, you must be able to carry your team"
and while I reserve 3rd pick or adjust my pick most of the time. I think when put in such situations, it's very important that you pick a core and not play hard supp or biatch supp.
Why? This is because one way or another your carry or enemy carry will fck up. You can't rely on lower medal players to win you the game. You can't even rely on a good laning stage to win you the game. Can't even rely on proper warding and communication to win you the game.
at the end of the day, the best way you can impact the game is with the hero you play - the amount of damage you deal and the kills you get.
