Its good if you can secure some micro and avoid harrass. But against SF, Tinker, Invoker, or Medusa your in trouble

I played mid as an Ember against Sven, Sven wins the matchup. Cleave drains all your hp and the enemies all camp the runes while your team do nothing to help you get runes and steal the courier to deliver their boots to them so you can't even bottle crow.

as murranji said, that's a good matchup for sven. ember is a fairly squishy melee hero that can't come up to last hit. If the puck was mid (and they weren't feeding) sven would have had a much harder time in lane. In most matchups sven wont do well in the mid lane.
