Basically if they have more then 25-30 armour then minus armour isn't as effective. Minus armour is most effective if they have less then 10 armour and is very effective if it can reduce their armour below 0.
You're probably better off getting Basher, Mjollnir or MKB since they deal magical damage which ignores their armour. However if they have BKB then its better to just go raw attack speed and damage.
Daedalus and its crit are both Physical Damage.

*if the opponent has high armor do try to lower them with deso cuirass or avoid it get attackspeed and go basher mjo or mkb. (this is after core items) and is the damage type of daedalus is physical?
