the item is for supports to catch up in exp cuz they are often behind.
but it also costs money. using ur money delays ur items.
you have to decide whats more important, the exp or finishing ur item.
its that simple.
thats part of the decision making in a game. at a certain skill level u cant just follow a build or guide, but decide for urself whats best for u and ur team at that point of the game agaionst these opponents. Sometimes as a support I try to get an early pipe instead of mek, if the game demands it (such as when our team gets beat up from nukers a lot)
Just buy it asap, only 150 gold, gives 425 exp, which actually makes Bounty Hunter significantly better.
so that means 150 gold for xp is more worth than rushing core items. ok thx sir
Usefulness of this item is very questionable for me. Unless I need that lvl 6 badly, I prefer an item that removes 425 xp from your hero for the cost of 150 gold.

Ideally you use it the moment its off cooldown because its more valuable the earlier in the game you use it. But if you almost have your Blink or Mek you might want to finish that first.
In general its used to help Supps catch up but I can justify using it on an offlaner who's fallen behind in order to get an important level. Depends who will benefit most.
I'd say the best time would be if you can't hit level 6. Let's say it's ten minutes in and need level 6 on lion. Perfect time to use a tome. On the other hand when your team needs wards about twenty minutes in and you have to make a choice. Probably wards unless youlose the game without that level 2 cm ult. It all depends on the game. Maybe one game the alc that is free farming decides to be nice and buys you one.
It's not a matter of when to buy it (always buy it off CD) it is a matter of who gets it
They should remove this shit from dota 2, this is not angel arena-wc3 and the game is not meant to be modified that much. If i wanted to play Lol i would already be doing so. Taking drugs and partying all night with escorts in Valve's offices damages the brain of the employees, i guess.
This is good for the first 20 mins, it needs some kind of extra XP when timer hits 30 min mark, 425 XP won't help at all at that time.
Have only bought one but was pretty stoked that it shot me to level 11 swap on venge for 150 gold :p
always get tome if you're support if you carry takes it tell him he's an asshole and take it
Let arc warden buy tome first then anyone else can get it since he can tome himself or teammates with his clone
Some bastard stole my tome after I bought it and was sending it to me. Freaking mirana... Lost a major team fight because my ult was still on cooldown. Oracle life.

this new item really confuse me. in a pro games, this mostly bought by a sup hero. but when u should buy it?. i saw sometimes they bought it after got some core items like meka or force, in the other hand some ppl bought it after they only have an arcane or brown boots, then they buy wards and that tome. it really confuse me, any thoughts guys? thx
