I dunno, I always thought being able to get 5K solo, took more skill than getting 5K party, cause anyone can 1-2 stack with amazing players you can depend on, and won't argue with, some people even stack with pro's and shit. It takes a lot to deal with the solo bull**** journey alone, that's just me though. Strengthen's you mentally too.

Do you guys think it's better to find match solo or go party if I'm generally looking to improve my gameplay in dota? This is assuming the guys I'm partying with either have better or equal skill compared to me.
