Ya man i hate those kind of smurf that abuses the meta and spams into the forum talking about how he is VHS. I think valve should make a more secure smurf detection system. Those who uses 3-5same hero per game until 100games should be brought down to normal skill

They dont even have a decent hero pool

Make calibration result not higher than 3k. Then people will stop smurfing !

There should be some kind of filter which keeps vhs bracket or 4k bracket to be protected from people who dont have experience.

Even though someone plays really good, he should play from 3k and climb, this make sure higher bracket only consist of people who are really good and "experienced"

my reason is
at my main started at 3.3k and lost all my fuckin 10 matches , ( yes 10 ) becouz 1 teammate fuckin fed 100% cuz our mid didn't say miss !!!
all 10 matches i try and try 2 carry my noob( newbie ) teammates and they don't even buy cur untill i buy it 4 them.
i don't recommend it if u r not in my position but sometimes it's nessesary ( i got 1,1 k , i got headaces with each match )

People keep calling me smurf here, and i'm just dota 1 player.

Too bad there isn't an actual main account in DotA 1. I had accounts for BattleNet, GGC, RGC, DLC, ICCUP, Darrer and IRC account for IRC based in-house leagues.

As for Dota 2, I gave away my actual main account which kinda makes me sad since it was one of oldest accounts from early closed beta back in '11.

Man battle.net ....so much memories mostly bad cause I suck at it .Well all of the Warcraft 3 (not world of Warcraft) campaigns were so fun...I remember when Dota was just a somewhat custom game or map in wc3

The word smurf has been corrupted so much since it's begginings and now it's thrown around so freely...

Wasn't the original purpose of smurfing to play with lower skilled people so you don't go up with that account?

I don't know why Valve doesn't offer like a $50 "MMR reset" consumable that you could use every say 60 days which completely erases your win/losses and your MMR stats.

Seems like it would solve the problem here.

I kinda agree with a lower calibrations cap. make it like 3800 or the border to "VHS". It wouldn't really hurt new players that much, since very few new players first calibrate over 4k, and it would heavily deter the "i need to make smurf and get 4k" mindset OR the people making new accounts to sell after calibration.

IMHO, being a 2000 games, slow-climbing normal skill player is still good compared to being a sub-50% winrate "VHS" smurf who eventually log-rolls down into his original skill bracket.

Come to think of it, failing to fool valve's MMR calibration system and instead fooling yourself into believing you're worthy enough of VHS in the first place is quite pathetic, really.

I have only 425 games in ranked Bcuz I haven't play ranked until starting this month and this account is so old and I am 3k & I am climbing.U ppl blind or failed math?

I mean why so much hate ? smurfers achieve their bracket and get the mmr they deserve !and I dont think any smurfer would ruin ur game coZ u ve got ultra high skill bracket ! I respect ur opinion but ... no one cares what a normal skilled player says in this world !

Normal skilled players AKA noobs want to make an excuse to make themselves feel better so they could go to sleep at night.

Their argument makes no sense as people who are 6k MMR can and will rise to that MMR range with any account regardless. If your skill is at 3k MMR then you will rise to the 3k MMR bracket with a new account. You will not suddenly be 4k MMR just because you create a new account. You will crush any player below your skill level until you get to a skill level where it becomes challenging and you no longer crush the opponent. At that point you will be equals with the players you play with.

Also, I am pretty sure players would rather have a highly skilled smurf player on their team than a noob normal skilled player. As for the opponent, after they crushed by the smurfer, they will NEVER see that player again because Valve's system will calibrate that player out of their bracket.
