does your team want to push or do you need to create space? that should probably dictate the way you want to go with your build
If you see enemies have low mana pool, then go for qw. Also qw is perfect for space creation, because with qe you can't do much early, while with qw you have tornado and emp maxed. I recommend choosing qw and building fast orchid if enemies have anti-mage. Tornado + EMP Orchid + Deaf blast will kill him (before he gets manta)

Q/W is actually a very easy invoker to play, I play him everytime and I get a very good score with him + I look good even though I'm not even a good invoker, before Q/W I went always Q/E and could only do eul combo, after I used those 3 spells I was basically useless in a fight, so we pretty much would lose games because I couldn't do anything more but those 3 spells, would lose with 10+ kills and 0 deaths, the last time I played like Q/E invoker with just euls combo was 8 months ago, recently started playing invoker with Q/W and I'm actually winning games because I'm performing well and are very usefull in teamfights.
EQ is just as strong as QW. Honestly, if the enemy team is melee heavy, I tend to go QW because it's easy to group multiple melee in combo. But if they are ranged, alot of the time you will only get 1 or 2 at tops 3 in a tornado emp combo. Download my replays, :D
