I'm mostly on Normal Skill Bracet because I play with my friends regularly (which some of them are below 3k).
When I'm playing solo, I'm usually on High Skill. Sometimes on Normal, or rarely in a Very High Skill bracket.
Playing in Normal Skill for me is fun. Though I can't dominate it, atleast it's not that stressful unlike higher tier matches, where dust, smoke, or tp back up happens most of the time haha.
Play in a skill bracket where you think your dota ablities suits you. Don't be jealous on VHS player like TripleSteal because their abilities brought them to VHS. If you want to reach them, practice. :-)
As for me, I play dota for fun rather than competitiveness :-D
P.S. Normal skill is still pretty challenging. I try my VHS friend to play a NS match. They lose (his hero is Magina) because their enemy supports rotate very well. And ofcourse, he blame his teammates haha.
