no it is not, you send 2 when you value your midder higher than usual or if by doing that you cripple the other mid. It all depends on the strategy behind the picks. I forced a dual mid lane in a bot match. I was WK with a bot SF. Hilarity ensued.
Ok so imo dual mid can work against some lineups and with some small sacrifices. Sometimes you will see something like an earthshakira camping mid while sf gets souls...I just want to point out that that is not considered dual mid. Dual mid is like Storm and something like a bane but that is really rare. Wisp tiny is common (which is a dual mid). The point is dual mid is usually bad since you want to get full xp mid...not split with a support...that is the whole point. In tiny's case you sometimes just have to do it...Your wisp can control runes and you have endless mana and hp. But something like a storm qop and such want to get early 6 so you can farm faster gank and not be afraid of ganks since storm gets his escape/positioning/whatever mechanism at 6. Now you can argue about this for a long time and there are benefits and drawbacks but in most cases you don't want dual mid...it just puts you in a disatvantage against the other mid. You would rather have some support rotate and gank mid than have one there at all times. I'm sure you have your own opinions and if you have a good one you could maybe write it here since I don't care about bashing each other I would rather listen to some advice and opinions...Have a nice day and have fun bros.
Having something like pudge or lich fuck with mid equilibrium is cancer to play against
My favorite dual mid is BS and BANE... total domination...sleep + blood rite almost every time kill
mid plus babysitter is not the same as dual mid, actually
dual mids commonly involve Io (with SF, Tiny or CK). The strengthsof dual mid:
1) enemy midlaner becomes underleveled and underfarmed unless u fail
2) Io stacks jungle and actual midlaner gets a huge economic boost
3) Most people do not know to play against dual mid, even in competitive
babysitting your midlaner is another option, mostly used for squishy midlaners without escapes against agressive enemy picks (2 rotating supports, bara, bh, etc.); or if you are playing 1+4 strategy with TA or SF.
dual mid is the best mid, usually something like pudge+sf or invoker+sf, wins the lane 100%
only mid I would dual is like lich + anything cus with his denies you will both stay leveled and you can harass enemy out of lane so easily, or possibly a super cheese mid like bane + mirana but that's it. Anything else you'll just end up underleveled. And no one knows how to play IO
