they are separate besides the calibration period for rmm - at that moment, your unranked mmr is used as starting point in rmm. after that, these two ranks do not interact with each other at all.
not really that different from ranked unless you're 6.5k+ and play regularly with other 6k+ players

Look at my dotabuff...My Ranked MMR is about 2.5k yet everytime I All Pick, I'm placed in the High Skill Bracket. Note that I never played ranked MMR anymore since last year. Btw, the Normal Skill games in between those High Skill games is because I'm on a party. Other than that, everytime I solo queued, I'm always in the High Skill bracket now. Anyone can explain this? Does this mean that my unranked MMR is about 3k plus? TIA
