All picks and bans envolved Vega (not touched in any other game) and one of the picks (the only one that won) was a deny pick against Vega... I dunno... I just think it's a flavour pick of the team... and even then it isn't doing well for them, they lost both games they picked it (with CDEC having the only win with it...)
Don't think we can talk about him being shit or not... but I wouldn't say he's great.

Maybe picked up due to snowballing strategies as he can hold out pushes and can weather a lot of the new meta nukers. He was always decent just very few players could effectively play him.

you kill people with shield + 1st skill, get some sustain (bottle).

the ember counters are hex and orchid, both of which are dispelled by ally diffusal, echo shell, disrupt, etc
in the lategame (professional) supports will have more defensive items to save u, and ur fist lets you shit out retarded amounts of damage
plus ember buyback is super strong, which makes pushing into ember even more cancer

Yeah, i agree with that dunning kruger jerk Benao, Ember needs to get a bunch of kills to even be good at ALL.
Everytime i play him, if i don't have like 9 kills and 3 deaths, i'm probably going be irrelevant with him late game. He's bad despite having the tools (abilities) that would make people think other wise, aka Magic shield, initiating/ganking ult, a stop(semi stun) and a team fight W, even with those, he's still pretty weak.
He can't hold a candle to real carry's late game.

That is pretty unbelievable that people are saying ember is shit after 5 straight ti games where ember is picked. THE pinnacle of professional e sports tournaments, where it's all on the line. And pro team after pro team are picking him and doing well (as if they just pulled this shit out of the blue)

This discussion thread is over. Ember is a great hero in the right situation. Just like many cores. You would probably prefer the team that picks gyro and qop every game because of their diversity, that's fine. Which is why ember shouldn't and hasn't been a round 1 or even round 2 pick for the most part.
Defending high ground; heavy team fight strats; split push; pairing with strong defensive supports like dazzle/omni; counter push.
It is not even arguable that ember has amazing escapability & heavy burst dmg/initiation that lasts throughout the mid to late game. He has a very easy time split pushing and farming in lanes against teams that want to group up in the early-mid game.
I fail to see any argument for how he will be shut out of farm, I've not seen it in any game in ti nor forsee any reason for that to happen.
never played against a decent ember (4 5 6k)
