When I played mid against 6k player. He crushed me so hard that I couldn't believe it was even possible to crush someone as hard in lane (I had like 10h in 10min as Storm vs his QoP & was 3 lvls lower, even though I was 4k MMR at that moment).
Like my third or fourth game. When I started I would spam spells thinking it was like wow pvp. I had no clue what last hitting was.
When I had to Google "why would I turn off ring of baslius?"
When i read chaq's guide for mid (great stuff.)
when i first played in dota 1 and there were ZERO PICTURES OR ITEM DESCRIPTIONS
everyone was spending half the time in the fountain to figure out how to combine most items
there were about half the items compared to the current game, and it was already a mind-numbing crazy amount for newbies.
Its funny when you're super noob and know nothing about what you're doing, you don't realise how complicated it is and how much you suck xD
Then when you learn about last hitting, stop feeding so much etc and start learning tidbits about the game and certain heroes - you realise you know nothing and have so much more to learn
when i see ppl like benao talking non sense and truly believing its true.
When i went on the impossible journey of getting 5k as a 3.6k and everyone told me ill never make it
When I realised items actually had progression.
Context: My first game as CM I bought a claymore just cause it gave + damage.
^ this. haha. i feel so reminded of dota 1. like my first games i almost always got a soulbooster. it was like the best item in game xD I wonder if it build into aghanims or another item back then. and shadow blade - ehhh lothars ;)

I think non doto gamers think doto is a very casual, kiddie and easy game. But for you personally, when did you realize you're playing one of the most complicated and competitive games in the video game world? Thoughts?
