However my competitive success is different, because the style of the game is different. A lot of the support players on pro teams usually have quite low pub MMR because it's not their game. Some people do better in organized gaming others thrive in chaotic pub gaming.

Does joining any competition listed at http://www.dotabuff.com/esports/leagues get you verified? Or only the TIs?
I frequently met with some verified players who i dont find particularly 'professional', not saying they are mediocre, but they played like every other 5-6k mmr casual gamers
