It's because everybody thinks he needs to "carry" the team. I'll often play solo support in those games and if the enemy have invis heroes u start the game with wards, tango share 2, sentries/dust and courier. Which is already 600g.. Leaving u with 2 tangoes and maybe one branch. I'll try to get a tp then asap to counter ganks on mid and top.
It's pretty hard to play those games. But the reward of it is that u should have 4 cores while u can still help the team with decent lvl only.
