I have also noticed that my team mates in my ranked games are a lot worse that those in normal match making, one of the last ranked games WD had a manta and a vlads.
It depends really, ranked will (for obvious reasons) have a lot more rage cases because people are concerned about their rating. This was previously the case in normal MM where people were concerned about their KDA and winrate but now these things mean less due to ranked people are a lot more better mannered in normal.
Issue with normal are...
>People get mad if you play the game well (e.g. "go play ranked try hard fgt")
>People throw sometimes cause they don't care as much.
>For a lot of people normal has lost its meaning due to no "reward" system for winning.
True skill rating, which is a mircosoft thing which is something dota2 has never used.

There was a blog post about the different matchmaking ratings some time ago, and nothing has changed since then. There are 5 separate ratings in DotA2:
- Solo Ranked
- Party Ranked
- Solo Unranked
- Party Unranked
- Team
Again, having the number doesn't mean much IMHO without a proper extended leader-board.
You see the top 50 (I believe?, I don't even remember) of every region, and that's that.
An extended ladder to see where you are currently at might be a bigger stimulant to compete.
Also solo queue --> find groups... WTF? that needs to be addressed.
But mostly, what bugs me, is the lack of community involvement Valve has in this game, correct me if I am wrong by all means, but I don't see them that much around discussing with the community, especially about sensible matters or improvements. Threads simply get locked when they don't want to reply.

Back on topic. Don't wanna QQ here, but I really think Valve needs to find a common point in how the rating of players are composed in both normal and ranked. I got these 3 "friends" who usually play ranked only and are almost 1k higher than me but are complete trash. Every time I've played with them they have the most stupid picks, severely lack in game knowledge and their execution is complete crap.
well I enjoy more ranked because for some reason my unranked games skill bracket is normal so I usually get frustrated because there is really a difference in how "good" the players are
same here. went down about 400 in rmm and i havn't had english speaking teammates for about 10 games. very odd.
lol it really depends on what time you game... like untill 12:00 AM (midnight) there are fairly alot of English speaking people.. but after that .. its all Russians and Foreigners :P. This guy I gamed with was Russian,, I met him 3 times consecutively in Ranked match. He was really funny and douche at the same time.. I really enjoy gaming with Russians, they tend to be really nice. I enjoy having one or two russians in the game because their accents are so funny and they just bring my morale up. Like one of your friend who always do stupid shit when your at a party... everyone has those kinds of friends :P

Just took a break from RMM after some really big losing streaks and going down 500 MMR and moved to normal MM.
To my surprise, normal MM seems much better than ranked. The number of QQers and ragers is faaaaar lower than in RMM, also the games are a lot more enjoyable since people in the team actually communicate and make smart decisions.
Anyone know how the team composition is made? Based on what? Is there still some hidden score each player has that is used by normal MM only or what? A lot of the people I see in normal MM are way better than what I'd get in ranked (both allies and enemies)
