I could see him hovering around mid in plain sight - not even from wards - doing nothing very often. In situations like that, where you're trying either to gank mid or bait mid into getting aggressive on your mid (and then instantly pop out to help), fog of war is your friend. Otherwise, it's all for nothing. You sacrifice your gpm, your xpm, your impact through mystery elsewhere, and you even sap some mid XP perhaps. These are all bad things.

I score high on IQ tests and it leaves me in a odd situation. I am smart enough to know how inaccurate the test is but my ego is so big that I want to believe that I am wrong -_-

as much as they try and remove bias there always ends up being some. I am not saying the bias is great enough for someone to get 150 when he is 100 but I really dont like the grey area in the testing

Yeah I've taken an online IQ test but I don't know what the official IQ test is or anything. I think back 13 years ago when I did it I scored 119 or something around there.

Online tests are bulshit, and really, don't even try to to them. You can do officially Mensa test ( 1 per year ) and see your IQ. Although , it is not easy, and kinda hard to understand ( some question were like, what the fuck ) but will give you stable and reliable IQ measure.

Also, there is so called "Mensa test online", but it isn't reliable. It is better then normal scams/test, but not so accurate as real one.

Sampson, you literally just said you know that IQ tests are "inaccurate" and then went on to mention some vague feeling of "bias" while ultimately concluding the test is still in the ballpark.

No. The only valid tests are administered by a psychometrist with generally far more questions and a different method of administration.

IQ isn't legit lol, I got 132 which I was super happy with until a much more intelligent friend got a lower score. And then there's the arguments about different ways of being intelligent, eg. artists not being good at science/science peeps not understanding art, as well as the fact that your IQ can change. And anyway I'm pretty sure perseverance and hard work > innate intelligence.

Also, Sampson [the mad jerk] is right, IQ tests have long been known to be biased. I would say that judging a person's success is more relevant than judging some innate intelligence.

My friend topped his state in both the Maths courses he did, and his IQ was judged to be lower than mine, which is lower than yours. IQ tests didn't become unpopular because of PC hippie bitches, they became unpopular because they're genuinely not accurate.

EDIT: Not to say that I think you're unintelligent, I'm sure you are, but don't expect high marks to just come to you, you need to work for them like everybody else.

Any sort of algorithm that deals with social systems has exceptions. Those exceptions don't unravel the validity of the algorithm for the reason that it may work most of the time and it may be the best thing we have. For sure, IQ isn't just some random quantity without any substance at all. If it were entirely meaningless, prediction based on it would not be possible, but indeed, you can predict income, education, and other things based on it better than a random guess.

As for your friend, did he and you take official IQ tests administered by a psychometrist or an online one? People tend to demonize IQ tests by judging the free ones available online. There's a reason why an IQ test costs 100s of dollars, you're paying for all of the effort that went into creating it as well as the means to administer it. Do you think some random programmer wanting to make a quick buck online is as correct as that team of researchers and test creators? Probably not. Another obvious question is whether he was trying when he took the exam.

If you were referring to the simpe-iq test, that is definitely far from a standard test. All of the questions are simple in that they want you to answer them in like 1 minute whereas real tests can have tougher, more involved questions. The test is short (less than half an hour) when real tests are hours long. The test is timed... and uses your finish time to affect your IQ score, which ignores the fact that some people read literally twice as fast as others or twice as slow. You know you're taking a real test when you see pattern questions that are seemingly so random no matter how smart you are that you can look at them for 10 minutes without having the faintest idea what is going on. Everyone is supposed to miss some questions on an IQ test to avoid being placed in some immeasurable space, even geniuses. That's what it means, basically, when a person is too high to measure - he didn't miss any questions. The simple-iq test isn't like that. Any of its questions can probably be discerned by 10 minutes for sure by anyone, and probably any real genius gets all the questions "right" with his timed finish being the only thing that distinguishes him.

4 hours, 4 bloddy hours the test for Mensa lasts ( + the 1 hour for preparation ). So stop bulshitting about online tests, and go do the real one.

@vandal you don't pay for Mensa test, but they have to be sure you want to join them, and not doing test, simply because you made a deal with your best friend to check your IQ

Well, it's just a game, you pay to join, so they take the loss upfront for profit later on. Their tests still cost money to make and administer.

I have done that test twice and even if you don't pay the test IT SELF, you pay for even doing the application workshit. I bet you ment that one. But it depends , there are different tests , for different kind of IQ and they are using different IQ sqales , so it all depends. I do know ( i've had to google it ), that you mostly pay. Seems that i did that somehow throught other kind of taxes or similar. But ye, you have to pay.
