For necro i like phase, usually a low hp hero is running away from the fight so you need mov. speed to chase him, plus he is so slow and he needs good positioning.
I mean i always get mek after phase so i dont think you need the 8 str that treads give you, and you are not a right click hero so +30 as does almost nothing for you.
What do you mean jungle with tide? Pull the lane creeps and go jungle others? The issue with tide jungle isn't his dmg reduction, he does crappy dmg until you level up anchor smash. His base attack speed is super slow. It'd be like jungling wraith king, it's possible but will take forever to farm anything.
Like if you do one pull through to the medium camp, you could tank the medium creeps while the easy creeps are fighting yours. Alternatively, you could stack camps and alternate skilling Anchor Smash and Kraken Shell and then spam that ability away.
when it comes to necro id rather have extra hp especially early/mid where spells are main source of dmg just by living through one extra spell from enemy u can possibly spam one more heal for few players
when it comes to kraken u level it up only when u need that extra dmg block due to your/enemy playstyle diving towers/harassment jungling attempt what have you

Usually I play necro as support, so I don't skill sadist until lvl 10. I go for arcanes first, then disassemble to get bloodstone and phase boots. For mid necro probably you want to skill sadist early, so you don't need arcanes. I'd rather pick tranquil boots then power treads.
About tide, I think really depends what you're against. If you're against many slows / silences / dots you want one point in kraken shell early. Usually at lvl 5 you should have gush lvl 3 and 1 point in anchor smash and kraken shell. To tank physical damage only, you can get a stout shield and put points in stats instead.

mmm i guess everyone has a way of playing a hero, but i really dislike your way, i dont think necro needs bloodstone but i guess if you max heartstopper you are going to need the mana regen of bloodstone, i just think that utility tank items like mek or pipe or atos are better items overall.
btw i am 100 % sure that the regen that you get by sadist will allow you to do more damage because of the mana regen and the hp rengen in fights than maxing heartstopper, heartstopper is a hp based skill that scales late game but its kind of meh early if you ask me, one or two death pulses more is probably better than heartstopper, buttttt whatever man .... whatever ...
btw i dont like treads but tranquils is even worst on him believe me, the hp regen is wasted, phase gives more burst ms and armor you get by a mek.
Tough choice. I go strait phase if i'm trying to farm. Last hitting with necrolyte is a bitch.
If i'm letting some else farm, i got arcanes, and disassemble for atos or soul booster later.
straight up brown boots.
if you grab a null talisman you never need more than that. if the hp is really a problem ur better off getting a casual vit booster than treads, but really it isn't a prob if you go null->boots->mek then into burst items. the 950 gold cost of treads gives you almost nothing in return outside of the 120 hp ish boost, spend an extra 150 and you have a vit booster, or u can get a point booster and upgrade it later.
Arcane's so you can use their magic restore and possibly get an extra 275 damage/130 heal pretty off and later build them into a Bloodstone.
^why would you ever need a bloodstone. also necro doesn't have much mana problems provided u dont use q every time its off cd.

noooo not bloodstone. Mek and/or pipe, then scythe, shivas, atos, etc. not some crappy item that gives you short respawn time and suicide option.

Aura is quite good for harassing. If you sit next to creep wave, enemy heroes can't farm without taking damage from your aura. They lose about half hp per 2 waves, with you doing nothing. For support necro, sadist is not really useful during laning stage.
I didn't know they buffed kraken shell... no wonder why those lvl 3 guys with the lvl 5 or 6 guy that has net/skeleton warriors did like 2-5 dmg per hit with lvl 3 shell.
I'd advise leveling it if you're taking excessive damage/harass or if you manage to jungle tide, which I think can be done if you stat shell/smash. 1 level into gush for the 40% slow for 4 seconds, the duration doesn't increase with level.
I really prefer smash over gush, you hit more creeps for more damage = more farm = good shit.
But really, you're trading 50dmg per level @ gush for an equal 50dmg @ smash PLUS smash is aoe and the radius isn't half as bad as double edge nor do you take damage!
@6_din_49 yeah for support necro i guess sadist doesnt do anything because you are probably not farming or killing so you wont get the regen.
to be honest i haven't played necro and tide for a while
but im guessing
necro: boots->mana boots->disassemble to brown boots + blood stone->phase/travel (if you are going bloodstone build)
tide: take kraken at lv 10 after stout shield lost it's effectiveness
@Dorkly sadist includes denies and neutral kills and hero kills. 10x the boost of the current effect if it's a hero kill.
honestly guys, if you are going to disassemble arcanes on nerco to go for phase/BoTs, you should build atos instead of Bloodstone.
Atos buffs have made it really good for necro, and its cheap. bloodstone just delays items like sycthe/shivas/orchid.

So sometimes I see Phase Boots and other times I see Power Treads. Is one better than the other in 95% of the situations? I could see Phase --> Atos to chase heroes down and Treads + DPS items for carrying.
With the new buff to Kraken Shell, when should you take 1 point and when should you max it? Couldn't you conceivable jungle with Tidehunter if you're pulling lane creeps?
