Look, I've been lurking this forum for quite some time now..

And lately I've been seeing a tonne of "analyze my account" threads, it's made me interested to know what you guys think?

I'm only 3.5k mmr for Solo and for Team, and I just can't seem to get above 4k, every time i get near 4k i go back to 3.5k (inb4 im trash player etc etc) I'd just like some advice on what i'm doing wrong? (inb4 trash player).

Just some general tips to improve my game play? I do play with some trash friends occasionally but that's my doing, just because friends are friends.

If you guys find this to be a bothersome post, just ignore/flame/troll whatever.

I'm just after some genuine advice from players who are better than me.

Kidding. Your problems seems to be hero picks. See all those heroes with under 50% winrate you have? That is a sign that you shouldn't be playing them. All of my most used heroes are 50%+ winrate except for np because i have 14 losses with him from when i was brand new to dota. These are my most played heroes because they are the heroes i win with, and i dont even have slark/ES in there.

Ah yeah, i might have to suck it up and stop playing those heroes :( i do have a lot of fun playing them, but i guess if i want to win, i'll have to play those that i statistically do better with!

just pick heroes you are good with

          Quick maffs

Well it gets boring to play the same heroes so i kind of agree with OP about it.

Well, if you are good farmer/carry stick to those kind of heroes because it improves your chance of winning (bad carry can ruin a game/waste an early farm). e.g. I personally play carry/mid most of the time cause i can get lot of kills, win a game, etc...
But if you're good support, try to find a good carry player and you can easily own your lane -> win a game
Simple strategy in my opinion :)
And yea, i was at ~3900 rank for a long time, now i jumped to 4100 in 2 days, cause i try to play that way.

                ur a bad player

from looking at your most heroes played and their win rate i can assure u that u suck at map awareness and roaming around the map...in other words u r ineffective and suck at it.

i'll give u the same advice i gave another 3k player: YOUR hero is not supposed to be in the middle of the screen...he shouldnt even be in your screen unless you're last hitting and worrying about your position....use the minimap to move and just look at your heroe when the minimap indicates u got some enemy close or need effective movements to evade trees when escaping for example..

so yeah u suck, this will make u a better player but u lack much more....also u dont need to know who fucking charges your matte at the tower, u just realize they are too close and that they're chasing your teammate and immediately TP and the tower using the minimap.. THEN u watch whats happening since u got 3 sec while doing nothing to prepare your strategy for when u appear (often shift if they ae escaping)

as rough as Benao sounds, he is right. (about the map awareness, not that you're a bad player)

Map awareness is essential for all roles.
Their supports are missing, the middle lane took the top/bottom rune, they are diving X lane, the lane is pushed too far, etc.
With enough "info" about the opponents, you can predict their next move. (or at least prevent a gank)

Really hard to analyze someones game play without watching a replay. What I find funny though is pretty much all of your most played heroes are under 50%, but your account is well over 50, meaning you do really well with those you don't play the most.

Your heroes played is really balanced in terms of games played which I would assume you have a lot of knowledge of the heroes and how they fit in the game. I looked at your skill builds and pretty much agree spot on with all of them. I guess my MMR is 4k (3.9-4.2) so our skill levels/game knowledge are pretty similar. All I would say is play more to get better.

I'm not too sure how the two posts above me came to the conclusion that you have no map awareness, but ya, map awareness is very important if you weren't aware.

                      LoneWolfster

@Benao, I dunno how you came to that i have bad map awareness (even though i might) from just looking at stats? have you watched any of the replays? or just making an assumption now.

As you've described about my hero not being in the middle, i do quite the opposite, i skip all over the map only looking at the minimap, not trying to be hardcore defensive about myself, nor reject your criticism, but you'ved based it on nothing? After watching a few of my replays, i think i sometimes have poor positioning / rotations not quick enough sometimes / not making the right decision

You seem to vastly prefer melee heroes -- and the winrates are rather low -- so I ask you, are you sure your team composition doesn't get fucked due to your preference on a regular basis because the enemy picks more ranged heroes, and thus end up owning the laning stage? Try some Veno or something bro.

If nobody picks a support (which happens many games) pick one that has nice nukes like cm, Lion, Necrolyte, Wd.

They support your team well and if a carry is slacking you can increase your team damage and carry the carry.

Necrolyte is not good as a support. Death Pulse is crap early. He needs farm.

Did you just say Necrolyte is a support?
