They are nerfed for non support basically. They used to be a great pick on Luna and enabled early jungling with relatively low risk. Now they are a complete waste of time.
Great for roamers.
Now they are only used by heroes who should be using them, non mana dependant supports who have no personal need for arcanes.
^And? Even if Axe laned Tranquils were by far the best boots for him. Regen is mandatory on a hero that WANTS to take damage.

Yep agreed. On top of that, I wish Valve would update their poopy default item build for non-support's. That alone can break my team with crappy boots early/mid game on a non-support.

Yes Axe is ruined. My centaur is ruined. A lot of heros that would disassemble and roll into a vlads by default build are ruined. A lot of my fave heros suffered after this patch with tranquils being a crappy boot now for them.
Yes axe shouldn't jungle agreed, I would lane with tranquils and absorb a lot of dmg and roll back and pop tranquils. Now you have to go brown boots, and vanguard on axe right away instead of tranquils to vanguard.
Popping the regen on those boots were huge in lane/out of lane etc. Makes health regen items more mandatory and costly.
Why get a shitty item like Vanguard when you could go treads into hood? More hp treads, more AS, more hp regen from hood, which also gives you magic resist and then it can be upgraded for MORE hp regen and a magic shield for all nearby allies
:( SO much vanguard hate. I get it because of the 80% chance to block 40 dmg. Granted.... I haven't used axe or a vanguard in a very long time. 4 months maybe?
We're off topic, but does treads on STR. really give more HP than a Vanguard? I think the 8*19 per str = 152 health on power treads, and the vanguard comes out on top with 250 health.
Not arguing vanguard over power treads/hood that is a combo i'm used to if i use bristle, but it has been a long time on axe.
Either way I think we can all agree that tranquils pre 6.79 was a better option over power treads "early" lane phase then roll into power treads is a better option for non-support heros (including axe)
Yep, it hurt Axe a ton, but it seems like Icefrog realized this and buffed Axe's regular regen in the last patch a bit.
I miss striders from hon. And yeah, for support, I'd rather just stick with brown boots and grab arcane boots when it's right/have the gold. Right now I only get on really slow supports such as crystal maiden or lion.
^^This. Battle Hunger was Axe's best and most useful skill, but no. Let me nerf it. His spin will deal 15 more damage from now on Kappa
I dont know about axe but even with the old tranquil boots i still prefer treads and vanguard on centaur.

Well I eventually went treads on centaur, but very very early, i would get tranquils because of the health cast. Point of it was I could disassemble them, keep the regen ring to build into my hood of defiance. Then sell the 2 armor ring (forgot what it was called idk... lol)
I would probably still use the tranquils on some of these heros IF I could disassemble them. But alas I cannot.

Yeah it was a nerf. You know icefrog when he gets bored he just changes something ramdon.

So, what's everyone's opinion on the boots? 6.78 and before I liked them because you could jungle/disassemble boots and sell parts from it and build other boots, or build into a vlads if you wanted to on some heros.
Also, I feel that they are a "NERF" for heros that stay in lane that are constantly getting attacked. For example, instead of going quick tranquils on my Centaur, now I get health potions. I could really dish out the double edge damage early and pop my tranquils for a quick health boost post double edge.
I do enjoy the 90 speed boost when playing INT. Heros that have a way of regenerating mana easily without relying on Arcane boots (CM/Lich/KoTL) but it seems that the viability of the boots on many heros have decreased?
