Also I know you have to gank PL to counter him I know, I know. But this hero is great at securing ganks on him with minimal need for dust (you will only need it if your net is a bit slow).

What are you going to do against a PL that actually farms? You know that he can split up his illusions, and if he uses manta/dopple/lance he will have another illusion army up within seconds.
Carries that are focused toward dominating early-mid game through either ganks or pushing + dust are much better counters.

Remember to always type in allchat "chemotherapy successful" after you win a game against a PL.

when he gets really farmed he does not have to show up at all, what will you do then?
One shot his illusion army with 5 Meepos poofing, then he can bring another army and as long as its within 6 seconds of the previous, they'll suffer the same fate. When the real PL shows face/when we find him, he will be perma-netted and my team will wade in.
@Terrible, the only way he will win is if the game is a stomp in the enemies favour, I know exactly how PL works.
mate to be perfectly honest, if you are left vs most heroes 1v1 situation you will beat them with meepo 5v1.
so just putting lancer as the example may have some truth to it, but its also irrelevant.
i usually used sf mid to rape pl mid/late game but with so many buffs on so many different heroes sf is just not a viable option now...
i would say the best to do vs him is to send a lich to the offlane with someone else and make sure pl gets very little income then go for a pushing mid game strat
Meepo is not 2 shabby against PL, but why would you want to do that if you can pick heroes like bounty and timber? ._.
countering a hero with a hero that has 110 counters. a so-so+ meepo player can make this work in pubs but it's less reliable than PL himself.
110 counters? Lol wut? Also yeah he is not terrible against him but more because he is rarely played and there are better heroes to counter PL.

Srsly, midas PL and AM on the same team, you didnt win because you were skilled, but more because the enemies were fucking retarded bro.
I know there are other ways to counter PL but I just like Meepo's skills vs him. They are good at preventing PL from having a good time even if well farmed haha. The problem tends to arise when the other team has a hero that can quickly destroy a Meepo but that's a topic for another time.

http://dotabuff.com/matches/371780705 I really enjoy playing Meepo but I found, and Dotabuff says, that he is very strong against Phantom Lancer. If you are any good at Meepo I highly recommend you use him as a reliable counter to PL as I have used him quite a few times for this reason now.
Main points:
-The net will prevent PL from going invisible.
-The burst damage from Meepo will overwhelm the tankiest illusions from a 5 Meepo poof (you can dominate him at lvl 4 onwards when you get another Meepo so he shouldn't get too farmed).
-The burst damage will at least get Phantom Lancer very low in hp. Perma-net him so he can't get away or go invisible and geostrike him, or another poof to seal the deal.
The only problem you will probably get into in terms of PL is one of your Meepos getting diffused. It can be difficult but netting PL whilst running the diffused meepo to safetly and geostriking him will make sure the straggler survives.
Sorry if this was obvious or this is wasting space but I've never had any real reason to post here so IT'S SOMETHING!
Also Meepo is great at containing true blinkers like QoP and Anti-Mage.
