IG gets destroyed by LGD in the G-1 LAN finals, groupstage.
43-2 in 30 min.
3 lost games in a row, all very bad losses. This last one IG failed the drafting and played badly too. They lost all 3 lanes, even Ferrari_430 lost.
ig no longer top team world ?
i watched tongfu vs Ig game 1 and they played quite well but this last game now was complete disaster ig losing their grip just like navi did
Aui_2000 casting the IG vs Orange game says
"this is really weird...they are making so many mistakes....it feels like I'm not watching IG"
IG has now lost 4 games in a row against 3 different teams.
It might be that they don't want to show off their new tactics befote ti3.
It might be that they are experimenting.
But yea so far doesn't look too good.
There were mistakes that has nothing to do with tactics, badly placed cogs, warlock standing in the front line (died without getting his ult off) etc. These things are not related to drafts or experimentation.
Everyone goes through ups and downs. I'm sure we'll see them back at their best soon, they are not invincible but still probably the favourite to win.
Safe Base is right. IG lost these games on miscommunications, positioning errors, incorrect team decisions, and more than a few actual miskicks. There is nothing to say when you see YYF miss 3 hook shots in a row, miss cogs....when you see Chaun miss aoe skills on an already stunned target more than 6 times in one game...and this is all on a LAN. They just lost directly by failing to perform at a world class level, some of the mistakes looked like what I would expect from a High level pub game when players suddenly face opponents who for the first time are too fast for them to handle and they panic.
Touche.
IG fights back and manages to take down DK. Meanwhile, also in the G-1 LAN finals groupstage...
Alliance starts 4-0 and is now arguably the #1 team in the world. We will soon see if they can maintain it and win the G-1 LAN finals.
IG got that one win against DK but...now gets crushed by Liquid in the next game 31-3 gg at 28 min.
What is the story here? IG crumbles under the pressure or welcome to real wisp play Eastern dota?
IGs trilane (Visage Nyx Jakiro) got completely pwned by Liquid tri-lane (CK-Wisp-Kotl)
20-2 at 20 min when Liquid trolls IG with eblade-vlads slark and aegis on Kotl...its a stomp.
Even the casters say "I hate to admit it but Liquid is pubstomping IG."
Shit laning by iG. Extremely bad use/choice of Alchemist for that position. Not surprising for them to get raped with that lineup.
rumor is there is there's some issue within the team, or someone has a problem. I remember reading somewhere that Ferrari was sitting either alone or with the LGD guys that first day. Who knows, maybe they bought into their own hype, slacked off while the rest of the teams caught up, trying different play-style. Whatever they're doing it really isn't working though and if it is a team problem it's not like they're going to roster change before TI3. It's a catch 22.
The alchemist vs slark was not a bad match up it was the fact that alchemist roamed top twice for 6 minutes each time with no purpose.
Actually Alchemist vs Slark is a horrible matchup.
Yes Alchemist will get decent farm for the first 3-4 minutes, but you aren't maintaining creep equilibirum at all, and you aren't denying Slark any XP at all (wave is pushed to his tower constantly), and every wave you are oom (without bottle crowing) or the moment he hits level 6, he is going to fuck you over nonstop.
Not sure why they keep persisitng with it, its not effective.
I'm glad to see that Keeper actually watched the game. Slarks farm and levels were way behind. Alchemist won mid by a large margin, controlled the runes and the lane position very well...but it didn't matter because he failed to gank DS top twice. To catch up slark had to go to the safelane bot, and lane for several minutes with Kotl feeding him mana to keep him able to constantly threaten his combo.
The slark vs Alchemist was a non-factor in the game. The tri-lane decided the win in the first 4 min of the game. Although one might argue that IG had already lost when they failed to ban wisp. It was clear they did not understand how powerful ck-wisp is in the hands of a Tier 1 pro team that does know how to play it. Or maybe they were just sloppy on their opposition research and did not realize Fluff is great at wisp. IG had banned wisp against Alliance.
The eastern teams were able to ignore wisp before only because no teams they faced had excellent wisp players on teams that knew how to play the combo correctly.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If and (when) IG lose to Alliance they will be 1-4 and will be the first team knocked out of the G-1 LAN finals.
>initiating on alchemist with ulti on
>430 blinking into the middle of 4
>chuan omnilash into full wave
and you wonder why they aren't doing well
Ok so I think what we see here in this last game is IG's plan to salvage what is clearly going to be a loss.
IG pick wisp-ck right off the bat. They pick it against the team that probably has the most experience defeating wisp-ck combos in the world. This must be a way for them to find out how to properly counter it. Realizing they had no chance they make the most of the opportunity to learn from the competition. I don't know if it will be as effective as they hope since IG is not good at ck-wisp. They put the ck out alone in the lane repeatedly...but still they will see examples of how to fight against it.
I don't think you are actually watching the game. iG had a shit draft and made countless really shitty plays.
No idea what they are thinking, and most of their decisions in this G1-finals has been questionable.
I still think IG is just pretending to be in pressure nd when dey hav TI3 matches dey wud show der TRUE COLORS. Just w8 nd watch u dnt expect IG ti make foolish mistake as Casual stated
Maybe something has actually changed, we can't really say they have been throwing these matches, all we know is that they are not playing anywhere near the level they were at before these finals. Seriously, they were playing almost perfect DotA before, and its not like they are making small mistakes now here and there, most of their decisions as I said, have been questionable.
It is very difficult to accept that a team that won every best of 3 and almost every game for over 6 months would go 1-6 losing to 5 different teams in 2 days...but IG had not played a TI3 direct invite team for almost 2 months before their losses to Tongfu the other day. Maybe they really were not practicing much against world class competition.
If this is some kind of mind games I think it is a pretty big embarrassment to swallow losing to everyone in front of the home audience live on stage in China as well as the whole world. They did not just lose the games they got totally dominated.
@ŠãÿČhêěż :]
How many dozens of thousand of dollars was the G-1's prize pool again. I doubt they're holding down.
saw it mentioned at the joindota forum but a quick search looks like from this blog: http://www.gosugamers.net/dota2/features/3252-g-1-league-day-two-blog-by-reinnnn
It's a blog and the internet, so who knows how true it is..

2-0 win in the dota 2 superleague....this is the first series loss for IG since last November.
The giant has fallen. The myth of invincibility is broken.
