TI7 Qualifiers conclude
The qualifiers for this year's International have concluded and 12 teams are set to join the 6 invited ones. Representing South-East Asia will be TnC, Fnatic and Execration, the same three organizations that won the qualifiers last year. China will send iG.V, LFY and LGD into the running, whereas CIS will be represented by Team Empire. In Europe, favorites Secret pulled through as expected, followed by the unexpectedly strong Planet Dog, a team full of players that have never attended a major LAN event, let alone a Valve one. For North-America, NP closed out first place and Digital Chaos grabbed the 2nd spot. Lastly, South-America will be represented by Infamous. The exact dates for the group stage have yet to be announced.

Redeye to not host TI7
Earlier this week, esports host and commentator Redeye announced that he would not return to host this year's International. This is now the fourth time Redeye will be replaced as a host of a Valve event in 2 years. The first time, former ESL host Chobra took over the group stage of The International 2015 and the second time, TheGDStudio's 2GD returned for a brief hosting gig at the Shanghai Major. At Boston, Redeye was then replaced a third time by former ESL host Machine, who hosted the entirety of the Boston Major. Redeye has first stepped into the scene as a host for ESL One Frankfurt 2014 and has since established himself as the most sought after host, with gigs at two TIs and three Majors. His replacement has yet to be announced.

Abed 10k MMR
Filipino mid player Abed is the first player to reach the 10,000 MMR mark. A little bit over a year since Liquid's Miracle- reached 9,000 MMR as the first player world-wide, Abed has now entered the history books with this milestone, pulling ahead of the likes of Paparazi and MidOne. Unfortunately, Abed's record is shrouded in controversy as his teammates would often queue at the same time as him to help him achieve the goal, both as teammates and as enemies.
Also Noteworthy
- The Battle Pass duration has been adjusted to expire on September 10th, 2017.
- Only Universe, Kuroky, Puppey, ddc and 1437 remain as players who have attended all TIs in some capacity (coach/sub). Veterans such as iceiceice, MiSeRy- and Dendi are set to miss their first International. A detailed list can be found here.

I, personally, would like to think that Abed deserves 10k mmr, especially since he is the number 1 player of one of DotA's most difficult heroes.

Hopefully Dendi will attend TI anyways. He is too great a personality to not be in the scene. :(
