so to be able to revert back to my GPU-less setup I should uninstall the whole Nvidia thing and reinstall the AMD drivers back again?

when putting a video card, uninstall all the integrated video card drivers. after that you can use ccleaner to delete registry etc. restart your pc. boot into your pc's bios and find something like ''primary graphics'' on its name (forgot the whole name) default value would be onboard gpu, change it to pcie or any pci slot you put youre card in (you do this to ensure that your video card run at its fullest potential unless your cpu is bottlenecking the VC). Hope it helps

I only happened to find an unused PC with a graphics card still connected but I'm not sure if it still works, so if possible is there an option to be able to revert quickly back to my previous setup just in case things go awry?

yes just install everything back again. dont be afraid. thats how i learnt to build and love pc's. also when installing a VC, while in bios go to onboard graphics, it should be beside the primary graphics adapter, select disable. forgot to mention that earlier.

I did this but my cpu didn't have integrated graphics on it. On board is your mobo's video drivers, usually just vga stuff. Grab a vga cable. Uinstall your current drivers, restart and use vga, install new ones, restart again. Pretty easy.
