What happens when someone improves by playing normal games, then returns to ranked?
A perfect matchmaking system would account for that.

The game does not necessarily have to end simultaneously for a tie. It would most likely be a case where neither teams are able to kill the Throne.
Also noteworthy, teams with a higher average mmr would always win.

it is impossible to get a theoretically equal outcome. just because the game itself is not balanced, and you dont pick the same heroes, and you dont have a symmetrical map. even if match making was perfect.

If matchmaking was perfect, every game where the average mmrs are equal would tie.
