The Glitch that I cannot Fix. complete AGONY! in General Discussion
I'M HIM

I have a brand new Alienware laptop that I purchased 8 months ago.

In every match I have ever played while using this laptop, the following will occur:

At the 5 minute mark, and every 5 minutes after that, for the entire game, my screen freezes, my hero starts skipping/glitching, the game timer keeps going, but everything is glitching, and it goes on for 8-10 seconds.... Then it goes back to normal, as if nothing happened.

It's for the entire game, and at exactly the same 4-5 minute intervals (when the bounty rune comes).

When the glitch happens, my ping goes over 3k, I lose 100 packets in/out, and the fps stays roughly the same.

I looked in up on google, and there were all sorts of suggestions: disk de-fragmenting, reinstall Dota, disable screen overlay, install new graphics cards, lower resolution, reset WiFi, and about 10 other options. Absolutely nothing I have done works, which makes me think it's some super simple thing that I am overlooking. I have gone through about 4 patches, so I doubt it's from the patch update.
    Has anyone had this issue,?

I have had to play support every match because of this. Literally my last 100 games have been support (check match history for proof). I cannot risk it glitching while playing carry, and then losing the game for my team because of this. It is very frustrating, and I just want this torture to end.

tl;dr- On a brand new laptop, dota glitches every 5 minutes for the entire game (around the time the bounties spawn), don't know how to fix this.

There are several things you can try (Do it in order):
            1. Check your hdd if there is an error.
            2. If you are usually using wireless connection try to use ethernet cable.
            3. Try to use DirectX9 instead of other options in Dota 2 settings.
            4. Disable the Steam overlay in-game.
            5. Try verifying game cache.
            6. Update your video graphic driver.
            7. You might experience underclocking while the freeze occurs so try to clean your laptop from dust to prevent thermal throttling.
            8. Update to the latest windows 10.
            9. If you have tried all options above and none of them works then you can try reinstall Steam and all programs with it (Including manually delete any steam/dota folders).
            10. Imagine using Alienware instead of ROG which is better omegalul, go buy an ROG.

This is one of the most probable issues.

secondly U have laptop with components which make a lot of heat so thermal issues is pretty sure a problem in some point. Laptops just are not for gaming. Try to place FPS cap to dota @60FPS to lower heating

              MuLLi

TDP Down: 35 W Typical TDP: 45 W -your cpu
MAX TDP: 150 W -your gpu

So over 200 W cooling needed for laptop is pretty much. U may need to lower graphics and cap FPS to lower your GPU heat load
